Questions
Before you book
The twelve things people ask on the phone, answered here so the call can be about the appliance instead.
- Are you an authorized service centre?
- No. Dunecrest Cooking Service is independent. No manufacturer appoints, vets, trains or supervises this company, and nothing here should be read as though one did. We name Wolf only to say which appliances we work on.
- What does a visit cost?
- Flat $129 diagnostic, credited toward the repair when you go ahead with it. You get a written estimate before any part is ordered or any labour is billed. There is no separate travel charge inside the 40-mile radius.
- Do you work on other brands?
- No. Wolf cooking equipment only — ranges, rangetops and cooktops, wall ovens, steam ovens, ventilation and built-in outdoor grills. If it is another badge we will tell you on the phone instead of taking the booking.
- Do you repair refrigerators or dishwashers?
- No. Cooking equipment is the whole of the trade here. Keeping it that narrow is why the van carries the parts that actually fit your appliance.
- What should I have ready when I call?
- The model and serial number from the rating plate, and a plain description of what the appliance is doing. On most units the plate is on the frame behind the door, or under the control panel once it is opened.
- How soon can you come out?
- Usually within a few working days. Hours are Mon–Fri 8am–6pm · Sat 9am–4pm. We do not advertise overnight or emergency service, and we will not book a window we cannot keep.
- Are the parts genuine?
- Genuine OEM parts only. We quote the supplier's lead time rather than a promise, and if a part is on back order you hear that before you commit to the repair.
- What warranty do I get?
- 90 days on labour, 365 days on parts, genuine OEM parts only. The same fault returning inside the labour window is a free return visit.
- Why do you ask exactly when the fault started?
- Because the answer is often half the diagnosis. A board that went dark on a stormy afternoon, a burner that stopped catching after a boil-over and a blower that got louder over months are three different mechanisms, and knowing which one narrows the checks before we arrive.
- My hood is noisy but still pulls. Is that urgent?
- It is worth looking at. On this coast a rising growl from the blower is usually salt working on the bearings, and a bearing caught early is a far smaller job than a seized motor and a scorched winding.
- Do you have a workshop I can bring it to?
- No. Built-in cooking equipment is diagnosed and repaired in place, so there is no counter to visit and no street address published. We come to you across St. Johns County.
- Who actually turns up?
- The same technician who quotes the job. EPA Section 608 certified technicians, licensed and insured in the state of florida, no subcontractors.
Still unanswered
Ask on the phone. If the answer is longer than a phone call it usually ends up as a field note.
