Customer feedback
What customers said after the call
Rated 4.6 out of 5 across 67 customer reviews. Below, in full and untrimmed, are 21 of them — the most recent from every kind of work we do, the unflattering ones included.
How to read these
4.6
out of 5, across 67 customer reviews of Dunecrest Cooking Service.
Each entry is one visit: what the appliance was doing, what got measured, what was changed, and how the call ended. They are printed with a first name and a last initial, and none has been trimmed to make the average look better than the work was.
A wall of nothing but top marks tells a reader nothing. A bench that has never had a part arrive slowly, or a booking go sideways, is a bench nobody has used — so those entries are in the selection below rather than quietly left out of it.
The selection is built by job, not by score: the three most recent from every kind of work on the work pages. Every equipment and neighbourhood page carries three of its own from the same pool, so more of the 67 are in print than appear here — and all 67, printed on a page or not, are counted in the 4.6 above.
No figure is quoted inside any of them. What a visit costs is set out on the rates page, where it can be held against the invoice, and what happens afterwards is on the warranty page. If an entry below sounds like your own kitchen, the page for that work explains how that fault gets found.
Wolf cooking equipment in Ponte Vedra Beach and the rest of St. Johns County: ranges and rangetops, wall ovens, steam ovens, outdoor grills and ventilation hoods. The $80 diagnostic was the same on every call listed here.
One from every kind of call
The oven under our range would light and then drop out after roughly ten minutes, every single time. He put a meter on the flame sensor, let me watch the reading fall away, and changed it. Steady since.
Amadeus F.
Self-clean had welded the door shut and the panel was showing nothing useful at all. He released the latch motor by hand, fitted a new one, then ran a whole cycle with us standing there before he packed up.
Sebastiana R.
Our lower cavity browned everything down one side. He shimmed the unit square in a cabinet it had been fitted twisted into, and put in a tired element. Two visits, because the part had to come in.
Philomena C.
Steam gave out part way through every bake. He lifted the boiler, showed me the crust sitting on the level probe, descaled the whole assembly and wrote down how often that needs doing on our water.
Lorcan T.
Gas hobs healthy, electric cavity stone dead. He traced it to the terminal block behind the kick panel, where one leg had cooked itself brown. Properly repaired. Getting the first appointment did take chasing.
Marcelline V.
An induction zone kept dropping to standby part way through a sear. He found the cooling fan under the deck choked with dust, cleared it, renewed the thermal sensor and stayed to watch a pan come up.
Rutherford N.
Two burners sat at the same height wherever the knob went. He stripped both valves, cleaned out years of grease and reset the low stops one at a time until each flame would hold a proper simmer.
Ptolemy D.
One burner would light only if you held the knob down for ages. He changed the spark module, which had a cracked case letting damp in, and reset the electrode gaps on all of them while he was there.
Rosamund I.
The hood blower had all but stopped pulling. He showed me the bearings packed with salt crust, fitted a new motor and wheel, then scraped a decade of baked grease off the liner before any of it went back up.
Saskia Z.
The steam unit stopped drawing water and sat there flashing at us. He found the pump inlet blocked with scale off the house supply, cleared it, descaled the boiler and set out how often to run the cycle.
Rosalie C.
The grill in our summer kitchen had corroded through its burner tubes. He replaced them, cleaned the salt off the valve bank and told us plainly which parts will go the same way in a few more seasons.
Perpetua L.
Water pooled under the appliance after every steam cycle. He traced it to a split drain hose behind the cabinetry rather than the seal two other people had blamed, and fitted a fresh length of it.
Xiomara B.
The oven side of our dual fuel would light and then drop out ten minutes later. He measured the flame sensor circuit, found the ground path corroded at the chassis and remade it. Solid ever since.
Serafina D.
Our rangetop had one burner that would not spark while the rest were fine. He traced it to a switch under the knob that had filled with spill, replaced it and sealed the trim so it cannot happen again.
Millicent D.
Our double wall oven quit heating in the top cavity the week before a party. He measured the element cold, found it open and had one on the van. He cleaned the vent slots while he was in there.
Alessandra V.
The left burner on our built-in grill had stopped sparking altogether. New electrode and lead, then he brushed the tube ports clear. His point about lighting it more often had honestly not occurred to us.
Hortense W.
Our hood was noisy enough that we had stopped using it. He found the wheel out of balance and one mount perished, replaced both, and the difference is night and day. It actually clears the room now.
Alaric I.
The griddle plate ran hotter at the back than the front, and breakfast said so every morning. He mapped the element, found one leg down, swapped it and checked the plate end to end before leaving.
Emeric G.
Our outdoor unit lit but ran cold on the right side. He found a blocked orifice and a slack air shutter and set both. It works properly now; getting a call back before the visit was the hard part.
Roderick H.
Two of the surface burners were burning yellow and sooting the pans. He checked the orifices against the fuel this house runs on and found the wrong ones fitted by whoever installed it. Blue flame now.
Augustin E.
The lights and the fan both died at the same moment. He tracked it to the switch panel rather than the motor and replaced it. The repair is solid; the first appointment was cancelled on the morning.
Ottilie X.
